Phenolic Resin 7522 is a thermosetting butylphenolformaldehyde resin, mainly used for rubber materialssuch as neoprene, suitable for press-fit adhesiveformulation systems. This resin is not too tacky forthis type of adhesive, but has a high hold-up andgood durability.In a neoprene-based adhesivesystem, phenolic 7522 resin exhibits good bondstrength at both room temperature and elevatedtemperature.
Solubility Soluble in aromatic solvents (toluene, xylene), copper, green hydroxyl, partiallysoluble in (ethane, heptane)
The primary function of 7522 resin in neoprene G-40S-1 adhesives is to impart low initialviscosity and maintain viscosity stability. Adhesives of this variety depend on the interaction ofthe elastomer and the metal oxide used to develop its cohesive strength at room temperatureand elevated temperature.
